About the Team – Chef Compliance
The Chef Compliance team at Progress is a technically skilled group that focuses on building cutting-edge compliance solutions and integrations. Their tools enable clients to maintain continuous compliance across systems, applications, databases, cloud platforms, and containers. The team is also working on a new cloud-based Chef Compliance offering.
Role Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will:
- Contribute to building and maintaining compliance scanning and remediation profiles using InSpec.
- Help in developing the Chef Compliance Cloud product.
- Address issues and enhance compliance solutions critical for customer success and the Chef community.
Preferred Background & Skills
- Solid software development skills; experience in Ruby is a strong plus.
- Good understanding of Linux/Windows systems and networking.
- Comfortable working with software frameworks; in-depth knowledge of at least one tech stack.
- Experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Chef ecosystem (Chef Compliance, InSpec, Chef Automate) is a bonus.
- Exposure to DevOps, test automation, or InfoSec/Network security is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
