Job Description
About the Role
Hinge Health is looking for engineering interns to join cross-functional, collaborative teams for 6 to 12 months. As an intern, you will participate in agile workflows and contribute to our iOS, Android, and Web platforms. You’ll work on focused, interdisciplinary teams, tackling different stages of the user journey – from building proof of concepts and improving APIs to adding new features, addressing technical debt, and supporting automation initiatives. Interns help maintain live site health and are guided by dedicated managers and mentors to grow their skills and make meaningful contributions.
You’ll get to work with technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, React Native, Rails, Aptible, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute production-ready code to solve real-world problems as part of your team.
- Build, test, and ship meaningful features during each sprint cycle.
- Engage in daily collaboration and receive guidance from experienced engineers.
Work Model at Hinge Health
We follow a hybrid work setup – interns are expected to work from the office at least 3 days a week, blending the benefits of in-person and remote collaboration.
Eligibility Criteria
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical area.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python and TypeScript, cloud services, and distributed systems.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and experience working with LLMs.
- Basic understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with front-end tools like ReactJS, HTML/CSS, and Python.
- Backend development skills in Node.js, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong academic foundation in data structures, algorithms, and databases.
- Hands-on experience through personal projects, hackathons, or research work.
- Comfortable with development tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, and debugging utilities.
- Good problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
